River Stage |
We enter our 12th Season following a decade of audience and critical acclaim for "powerful", "provocative", "highly entertaining", and "insightful" work in our intimate 140 seat theatre (check out the Reviews page). We present updates of classics, contemporary works and some of the best American plays of the past fifty years. Our Playwright's Festival of New Works, which has included the guest residency of Tony Award-Winner Mark Medoff, has given birth to seven world premieres, and River Stage developed plays are being produced in theatres around the country.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality theatre that enriches our community and incorporates its diversity.
River Stage is committed to:
- Artistic excellence.
- Producing theatre of cultural/historical significance that poses questions that concern us as Americans and provides a forum for ideas.
- Pushing the boundaries of the familiar and safe, and challenging our audiences.
- Providing the community with top quality theatre in an intimate setting and at affordable prices.
- Nurturing playwrights and creating exciting new work for the American theatre.
- Representing onstage and in our audiences the same rich cultural diversity of our community.
- Providing professional-quality theatre education for future practitioners of the craft. CRC students work alongside professional artists in all areas of the theatre, enabling them to strive to a level of excellence otherwise unrealized and providing them with an invaluable leg-up in a very competitive field.
